SAMPERI FLUTE TESTIMONIALS

Caitlin Nascimento:
Enclosed you will find a check for the beautiful Samperi flute that was sent to Peggy Schecter for my daughter Shaunessy to try. She loves the flute and I am very pleased to have such a wonderful instrument. Ms. Schecter has been an inspirational teacher for my daughter who has grown to love playing flute. Thank you again.

WEISSMAN MUSIC TESTIMONIALS

Alexandra Sopp:
I just want to thank you for all of the trouble you went through to help me pick out my flute. It was so nice of you to spend so much time and energy finding me the "right" flute. Coming down to your place was the highlight of my vacation. I learned so much in the time I spent, and now I know that the only place where people get the opportunity to try so many instruments is the JB Weissman Music Company. I will recommend you to all of my flute & piccolo searching friends in the future. Once again, thank you all so much. It's so nice to be back at school with a new and wonderful flute.

Alexandra Sopp:
Thank you so much for hand picking the headjoints...Thank you so much!!

Alexis Frankel:
I cannot tell you how much I have enjoyed my flute throughout the past six months. I barely even wanted to put it in this box to send to you for a check-up. I love, each day, looking forward to practicing, when I can hear its amazing tone. Thank you so much for your help, humor, knowledge, and excitement while I tested all your flutes. With your direction and encouragement how could I have made a wrong decision? I cannot wait to continue making music.

Alexis Frankel:
I greatly appreciate your efforts in promptly returning my flute. I can honestly say that no one has ever taken better care of me with such consideration. Thank you again.

Amy:
You are the absolute best! How can I ever thank you enough? Have a wonderful holiday season and I'll be in touch.

Andrea:
I wanted to let you know how happy I am with my new flute. It plays “like buttah!” I am very happy with it. I’ve told my husband, “it’s the nicest present I’ve ever gotten.” I appreciated the ride from LaGuardia, the lunch, and time you put into helping me select a flute. The whole experience made me feel like a movie star.

Angela Kelly:
Jeff Weissman's combination of exquisite craftsmanship and impeccable service is unparalleled in my experience. In addition to mastering the technical aspects of the instrument as well as anyone in the business, Jeff is equally masterful in understanding and adapting to the particular needs of each individual flutist. Over the course of many years working with Jeff, I have brought countless students and colleagues to him and am continually amazed by the time, energy and care he takes with each no matter their circumstances.

Angela McKnight:
Thank you all for a wonderful experience in NY. I really enjoyed the day I spent at the shop & meeting you all. Your help with selecting my new flute was wonderful!! I know I will enjoy it for a lifetime!! Thanks again for everything!!

Anna Stoetzer:
Thank you so much for letting me test these. I greatly enjoyed and appreciated the time you spent with me while I was in New York and for so graciously hosting me and my mom. I look forward to working with you in the future, and hopefully I'd like to get my instruments sent to you this summer to be worked on a bit. Thanks again.

Anne:
I was so delighted by your phone call last Tuesday! When we came home very late we found your kind and encouraging message! I was touched and honored that you liked my playing and took the trouble to call. Piccolo and I are doing fine. I certainly love to play it! I actually enjoyed myself playing more than ever. I'm working on a children's concert and finding more fun pieces to learn to play on piccolo. Thank you very much for your encouragement. It meant a great deal to me! I hope all goes very well for you at the flute convention!

Barbara:
Thank you for taking the time this morning to explain so much to me. I can appreciate as an owner/operator of a business how busy you must be, and taking the time out of that schedule to tend to my needs is admirable and adds to my knowing that I'm dealing with a more than reputable business and business person.

Ben Klein:
Enclosed is my latest CD. I am very excited about this one because it is the best work I've done. Part of what made it my best is the fact that I bought a new headjoint from you. Playing the various headjoints last summer at the NFA convention awakened me to just what a difference headjoints can make to the character of the flute. It also made me realize how much my technique had been hindered by my old headjoint. My technique exploded to a whole new level with this one. I appreciate your time and your trust with sending me the headjoints. It was an excellent learning experience, and I found one that has propelled me forward. Now I need a new flute. (OY!) Thanks once again for what you do.

Berta Frank:
Thanks for spreading such good energy up north

Berta Frank:
Thanks so much for all the support and flexibility.  YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!!

Betty Dimitriou:
Thank you for making flute shopping so pleasant!

Bobbi Blood:
I also wanted you to know that although I am not going to make a purchase for probably quite a while because I'll be going to New York, you assisted me in finding the possibilities I liked in particular. The responsiveness of the 9k gold headjoint was just as good as those of Miyazawa, and the sound was just what I was hoping to obtain. Perhaps I will indeed come to the Weissman exhibits, too, just for kicks. At any rate, thanks again. I enjoyed working with you.

Brianna Shaver:
I admire your company. The range of flutes available is phenomenal. Although I have never had the opportunity to play any of these flutes, I know that each brand is held with high regard. I wanted to say thank you for becoming a "one-stop-shop" for professional flute players, and those whose goal is to be so. I myself will most likely never have the opportunity to own one of these flutes, but I know that no matter what brand of flute I may have, I can serve God with my music and playing. I am looking forward to the South Carolina Flute Society simply to come and hear these wonderful flutes be played. Again Thank you for all you are doing.

Brenda:
Just a note to tell you how much I appreciate all the time you spent with me on the phone last Thursday. You were very kind, patient & helpful. I am most grateful!

Brianne:
I just wanted to say thank you for giving me so much of your time to help me choose my flute. I enjoyed my day with you immensely, and I am so pleased with the flute. I look forward to doing business with you in the future. Thanks again for all the help from you and your staff.

Carl Helmer:
Thank you for the time you spent working on my Powell. The instrument plays much easier than it has since I obtained it. Thanks again & I look forward to working with you more in the future.

Caroline Cline Corbett:
All I have been doing since I came home is PRACTICE my picc. It is the most awesome piccolo I have ever played and I am so proud to own a Weissman piccolo. I really could not be happier with my selection. Thanks to each of you for giving me such special memories of my first trip to NYC. It isn’t possible for you to know how much you touched me. Thank you, too, Jeff, for your extraordinary skills and talent and for the high priority you and your staff place on excellence! Keep up the great work…the music world needs you!

Caroline Cline Corbett:
You are truly the very best!

Carolyn Glover Jakovich:
The flute sounds WONDERFUL, and the notes are so much fuller.  Thanks very much, and please convey my profound thanks to Jeff Weissman for giving me the $175 discount.  My husband works for the State, and I am a full-time mom, so the discount is greatly appreciated.

If I know of any other students who have fine instruments, I will definitely recommend your company to them for quality work.

Thanks again.  Jasmine Bartz steered me to the right place.

Catherine Cuomo:
I decided to go with the bocote headjoint—it was definitely the most “special.” Thanks for all of your help and hard work. All the headjoints were beautiful.

Chris:
I wanted to thank you for such a great week in Idaho. I've never been so excited about my playing than I am now. Words fall short in describing how I feel about music and life but I'm fired up!. I would love to come out and learn from you. I'm grateful to have met you and worked with you. I appreciate the way you treated me with respect and was straight up with me. Every other " bad ass" I've met has looked down their nose at me, but you gave a genuine effort to help me improve. I learned more in the week with you than any other week in my life. You're a cool cat, and I feel honored to call you my friend. I wish only the best for you. Catch you down the line Jeff! Enjoy the adventure.

Christopher Crossan:
Thank you so much for responding to my email. I got a reply right after you sent your message. So nice to hear from Jeff. I still tell my students the story of that day I spent with Jeff back in the 90's. He made such an impression on me. Also, my Haynes is still working beautifully.

Ciara Hulet:
We received my flute and it is much better now! Thank you for taking such good care of it in New York.

Civia Katz:
I just wanted to update you on the flute that we purchased from you. Beth Anne must have the hang of it. She made first flute in district band and qualified for Regionals where she will be competing for States. We are really so proud of her and I think the Powell has helped for sure.

Claire Birmingham:
Thank you so much, I am very happy with my new flute! I'll look forward to shopping with you in the future!

Claudia:
Thank you so much for all your time & generosity. I love my new piccolo! I look forward to getting to know you as a friend and fellow musician.

Claudia Drosen:
I just received the repaired instrument and headjoints and wanted to let you know that you were a absolutely great to work with. Your prompt replies put me at ease, and you were always willing to help with questions.

I'm sure part of the reason Weissman thrives is because of your caring and consideration.

Thanks again!

Connie Lay:
Thank you, so much, for your time and assistance with Kelsey.  She really enjoyed playing that gold flute!  We appreciate your help in selecting a fine flute for our daughter to grow with.

Craig Handy:
Dear Trevor, on the advice of a friend of mine (Jed Levy, a good doubler), I have recently purchased a Trevor James B foot, open hole flute. Needless to say I am as happy as the proverbial pig. I have actually started to practice again. And I am getting compliments left and right--all due to the instrument. I bought my flute from Jeff Weissman in New York. Jeff should be knighted. Never have I met a retailer who treats his customers like kings and queens. He will go any length to make sure that one is thoroughly satisfied. He gives his most valuable commodity away freely: his time. But accolades aside, he is pushing your flutes quite aggressively to those (like myself) who can really benefit from the jewel that is your product. What does all this mean, you ask? I am just a happy guy saying thank you.

Cynthia Barrette:
I don't think I replied to let you know I got the flute and like it a lot!!! Thank you!

Also very happy with the work done on my old Haynes flute. I'm playing them both in my jazz gigs and with my friends. May even get back into classical!!

Dan Higgins:
Thanks so much for the information package and cleaning cloth. You guys are great. I really enjoyed looking at all the information. I didn't realize all the new products and flutes. I guess the days of just considering Powell and Brannen are gone. There is no place like yours out here in LA. I wish there was a place one could go to be exposed to all these innovative ideas. I will have to find an excuse to visit the Big Apple. I wish you all the success in the world on your new instruments. After reading the literature, I think you guys have come up with fine and creative ideas that work and will change the current thought process.

Daniel and Sandy Carlo:
Jeff, you were right on the money!  We used a white polishing cloth and were quite surprised how much tanish came off!  Thanks for the info regarding how to proceed.  We were surprised how quickly sterling tarnishes.  Thank you so much for the reassurances.  It is nice to know that the after purchase support is there for us.

Daniel Kirchner:
I just wanted to send you a note expressing my thanks for the quick cork assembly replacement you did for me last week. The weighted cork sounds great, and I am amazed at the increased response--I really had no idea the difference a new cork assembly could make. Jeff Weissman and Co. have been a tremendous resource, and I am very appreciative. Thanks again, and I look forward to continuing to take advantage of your expertise for a long time into the future.

Danielle Lanteigne, Canada:
I am enjoying playing with my new flute. I finally feel like I have more to offer as a flutist. I learned a lot from you like: you are a vegetarian, you use the word "panache", you drive a super duper cool hot ride& but I also learned that each flute has their own unique sound and character which allowed me to use a new beauty to the flute.  It made me really proud to be a flutist. But the most important is that I learned I have found the best flute I could have found for myself.

Daquise Montgomery:
Thanks again Leila.... you are such a wonderful person.

David Haimovich:
Again and again- MANY  THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

David Lorey:
Having given my recovering lip a thorough work out over the course of my two days at your place, I waited a day after returning home to play the new Miyazawa here at home.

DB:
We purchased a new flute for our daughter, Katie, at Slippery Rock University at Stacey Steele's Flute Festival. We bought a Muramatsu EX. Katie has not stopped playing it since we left the university last night. It makes beautiful music, and Katie loves the feel of playing it already. As Katie is a 15-year-old ninth grader, this was our first experience with anything like this. The student flute was much less complicated to buy. This was a fun process (even Katie's Grandma got to be part of it). We learned so much from you and enjoyed having her try so many flutes. We appreciate your knowledge and the way you shared it with us. Thank you for making the trip to "The Rock." We were in the process of having 9 flutes shipped to us for trial. This was a much better way for us to shop since we could see and touch all the flutes before narrowing down. It was also great to have you there to answer questions on the spot. Katie is thrilled with her new instrument. Thank you for helping Katie find her "partner."

Debbie:
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! The flute feels great! Your generosity is always appreciated, but I could not let it go unnoticed.

Debbie Goodwin:
Thank you. I can't wait to start playing my flute again. I've been using my old one to keep practicing during the past few weeks (it is 35+ years old) and there is such a difference between the flutes. It is similar to driving a Mac truck after driving a jaguar!

Diana and Donald:
Everyone is so impressed with my flute. It is so fun to play and not have to blow yours guts out or break your neck to play in tune. We thank you for your salesmanship. It was on a personal level and the hug really topped it off!

Donelda Gartshore, Queens University:
Many, many thanks for all of your help, comments, and information. Both Anne and I had never had such an experience prior to entering your door! Please send brochures for all my students at Queen’s University!

Diana Sipes:
Just wanted you to know that I received the Haynes flute okay and it’s playing much better now. And wow, you can’t even tell where those scratches from the crown were! Thanks to you and Nick for getting it back to me so quickly.

Donna Burkat:
My daughter is so happy with her flute! A worthy investment!

Ed Ruden:
Thank you so much for your expert workmanship on my piccolo! I value your attention and effort in helping me with this most “helpful hobby” of mine!

Elizabeth Boykin:
Thanx for the wonderful service and a great flute.

Elizabeth West:
Thank you for your wonderful service and esp the quicknes and caring w/ all the details of fixing my flute!!!

Ellen Elrick:
Thanks, thanks, thanks! I keep recommending you. I love my Miyazawa!

Estelle Campagna:
It is a joy to see a business run like Weissman Music.

Eve Harrison:
Great, thank you so much! I would definitely like to trade the Miyazawa in. That seems very fair. And I'm am REALLY happy with my new Haynes flute. I love it!!!!!  It is perfect!!!! Did you know, by the way, that our car wouldn't start when we tried to leave the other day??? It was so strange and random. Nick actually gave us a ride to the train. Anyway, thank you for taking good care of me, Nick for giving me two rides to the train, David for the adjustments and for helping me pick out my flute, and Jeff too! Talk to you soon!

Farah Zolghadr:
Thanks so much!
The flute plays like a dream!  I can't thank you and Jeff enough!  I am so excited (if you couldn't tell) :)

Gina S:
I am so happy with my new flute & piccolo. I look forward to practicing every day, and I am reluctant to put my flute away. It was great not to have to wait to order the flute and wonderful to know that you had thoroughly inspected and adjusted the flute. I also appreciate the seven hours of your time and expertise!! Anyway, thank you so much for everything. Thanks to David, he was a great help. Looking forward to seeing you in a few months.

Glenn Allen:
First of all, Meredith is delighted with her new piccolo. David diGiacobi was highly complimentary to both the fullness of sound and the quality of construction of the instrument. He said, “I may have to have one of these.” And, he also went on and on about the cocobolo piccolo case. Many of Meredith’s fellow flutists were very interested in her new “friend” and could not believe how fantastic it sounds. We all knew that! But, just the same, it adds to the fun and excitement of having such a fine instrument when your instructor and peers are in agreement with your choice. Many, many thanks again for all of your help with the selection and all of the extra work that made the whole experience so wonderful.

Herb Waldren:
Just a short note to say what a pleasure it was to visit your shop and meet you. You have an impressive operation.

Hilary Lopata-Nawoj:
I would like to sincerely thank all of you for your help. Your talent and professionalism are unsurpassed. My student, Annemarie, truly enjoyed the process of buying a flute from JBW. We are most pleased with the choice she has made. I am looking forward to seeing all of you again. Thank you!!

Wow—all the things I loved there are even better here, in my accustomed acoustic surroundings (I have three rooms I regularly practice and play in, ranging from totally dead to fairly live).  I’m looking forward to trying it en ensemble with a pianist friend this weekend and with my mother-in-law, also a pianist, over Thanksgiving.

Thanks again, Jeff, for taking such good care of me while I was out:  your focused attention and black-belt expertise made it well worth the travel time.  Thanks also for lunch, the T-shirt, the various cleaning cloths, the case and bag, and, coolest of all, the high E with Eb fingering—that’s a great one.  (Also the Ab3 using the C# trill key, come to think of it; I’m using that one a lot already in the Brahms f-minor clarinet sonata.)

Hope to see you again in the not-too-distant future.

Ingun Gjerde:
Thank you - we had safe trip home, and we even had time to get the remote control car we needed for our son before we left Manhattan. She absolutely loved the flute! She's going to write Jeff an email to tell her that herself.

Give my regards to Jeff, please tell him we really appreciated all the time he spent educating us as parents!

Jacquelyn Massa:
Thank you for all your time, patience, and knowledge in helping me select the right flute. It is greatly appreciated.

Janis Petzoldt
My daughter loves the flute! It was great working with you!

Jane Dodgen:
Sorry it took so long to get this email to you. Anyway, I wanted to thank you very much for all your help last month when I purchased a Miyazawa Classic from you. I really appreciate all the time (almost 6 ½ hours!!) you spent with me helping me decide which instrument was best for me. I am very much enjoying my new flute, and everyone has commented on my much improved sound. I just played my junior recital last night at the University of Kansas and had so much fun playing on my new Miyazawa. Once again, thank you so much for all of your help and for making my experience at the JB Weissman Music Company so enjoyable.

Jane Rigler:
You're awesome, Leila! thank you sooooo much!

Jason Brook:
Gosh I didn't know Jeff was making a special appointment just for me.  He's truly an amazing artist.  We really didn't spend much time trying new stuff.  He showed me that with a new headjoint cork and fixing a little imperfection on my embouchure hole, that I actually might just love my own headjoint, and that my flute just was in need of some love.

Jeff Zagarello:
Once again JBW flutes have thrilled my daughter. She is absolutely in love with the Haynes and you have again impressed me with your “helping her out” by letting Crystal try it out (for a graciously extended time again).

Thanks once again for being the company and the people you and your company continue to be…

Jennifer Borkowski:
I am so impressed with the sound of this piccolo. Going from Zentner to Weissman made an astronomically bigger difference in my playing--about 100 times more noticeable than going from Sankyo wing-lip to handmade Powell.  So...thanks!!

Jennifer Phelps:
The flute is amazing and I am enjoying it immensely! Thank you so much for all your help and expertise through the process over the last four months.

Jessica Dambaugh:
This message is for Nick, who just recently worked on my flute.  I just wanted to tell him thank you for a wonderful job!!!!  It plays like a brand new instrument!!!  Thanks again!

Jessica Sasek:
I came for a private appointment last fall to look at flutes. I was looking at purchasing a murumatsu at the time, but had not as of yet. I know you probably don't remember me, but I just wanted to thank you so much for all of the time and kindness you spent on me helping me find the right flute. Although I did not purchase from you all, I am deeply indebted to you. My search ended, though, when I was given a beautiful Haynes flute once owned by the St. Louis Symphony flautist and therefore do not need to purchase one. Thank you so much again for you help!!

Jon Katz:
Thanks so much for your help. I'm enjoying my purchase more and more, please send the message that I'm very thankful for all the time that was given for me, it made the whole process alot easier. Take care.

Jon Pederson:
It was a pleasure working with you!!

Julie Bailey:
This is very late in coming, but thank you sooo very much for all of the time you spent with both Megan and myself.  Our schedule has been very crazy, but still no excuse to not send a simple thank you.  Since we spent that wonderful afternoon with you, Megan has connected with Jeffrey Khaner and has started lessons with him.

Thank you again.  We both had a wonderful time with you.

Julie Bailey:
It is always great to do business with you!  Besides, where else would you buy a flute or piccolo????  I believe Megan should be set for a while with flutes and piccolos, but if anything were to come up, you would be the first place we would go!!

Thank you!

Julie Bailey:
(To Haynes Flutes) Megan was excited to think she could have one of the first 2008 Gold Haynes.  She loves this flute and practices even more than before.  When she finished practicing last night she said, "Okay, now I know what it feels like to be in love!".   She is 16, a junior in high school with plans of pursuing music in college.  We have an older daughter at a conservatory, so we know the competition is tough....especially for a flautist!   We knew this was the time to purchase a flute in order for her to adjust and audition next year.  (Although Megan is amazed at how this flute responds in comparison to her older Haynes!)  You actually spoke with my husband a few weeks ago regarding a gold flute for Megan!  We were trying to make time in our schedule to come to Boston !  Last week we realized our Saturday was free when a rehearsal was cancelled, so we called Jeff Weisman's and they were able to get us in for an appointment.  They are wonderful people!!  David worked with Megan for hours-he was incredible.  I cannot say enough about them.  (This was our second trip to them!)

Julie Falango:

Thank you so, so, so much for repairing my flute, and doing it so quickly too. I'm so happy I have it back and in wonderful, working conditions. It will be taken good care of. Thank you again.

Kaoru Hinata:
I love the alto! It's beautiful! Thank you so much for your help. You're wonderful! Hope to see you soon with my flute.

Karen Leech:
The bass flute arrived safely yesterday afternoon. It really is quite beautiful! The engraved keys and the mother of pearl buttons - wow! Jennifer played it today in her lesson and liked it very much. She will spend the next few days learning to know it better. Thanks so much. Kudos to Jeff for his set-up work.

Karen Robbins:
It's a pleasure working with you all--you make buying flutes fun and easy.  Also it's such a good product.

Kasumi Leonard:
I’d like to thank you very much for my new wonderful flute. I knew from the first moment that I played it that it was extremely special. I’m so glad I was able to get the flute that I loved and I owe it all to you and Beth.

Kathy Link:
I really appreciate everything you said and did to make my new flute choosing even more fun! I hope that wherever you travel, whether in person or on the phone, you receive the same great New York generosity of spirit that you give freely. Weissman Music is lucky to have you.

Katy Taylor:
I received my flute today from UPS. It looks and sounds beautiful. What a difference you've made. It is so easy to play. Thank you!!!

Kellie Goff:
Thank you for the beautiful piccolo. Kellie was thrilled—it was her reward for three straight years of 4.0 GPA. She has also enjoyed her Muramatsu flute we purchased two years ago and always is complimented on her beautiful tone. I’m sure we’ll be back when she is ready for an upgrade. After all, you are the only flute store in the world, aren’t you? Thank you again.

Kelly:
Thanks so much for the crazy flute day last week! I have been noodling with the headjoints. I most likely will have you send some flutes up here. I really enjoyed "hanging-out" at your place, and I learned so much I can't even tell you. I hope I can come down again. Again, thanks for lunch and your time. It was nice meeting you and everyone else. I'll be in touch!

Kim Valerio:
Thanks for all your help and patience. It was such an enjoyable experience trying out your instruments! I'll definitely be sending my students to you in the future. Please send any literature you may have so I can pass it on. Thanks again!

Kit:
I appreciate the time & effort you took to show us how to fix & repair our flutes...Thank for the laughs & especially for caring about each of us individually. Get rid of your stress--ha ha! We wish you the best in what you do--Wait--you are the best!! We love ya!

Krista Call:
I am very grateful for all your generosity, and especially for letting me stay with you. Although I wasn't able to spend as much time at the convention as I had originally planned, I went home feeling fulfilled. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to enjoy everything, especially all your wonderful piccolos. I look forward to coming in and finding the one for me. Thanks again, I greatly appreciate all your kindness.

Laura English, Hollins University:
I have tried all week to find the proper words to thank you for my magical experience in NYC last weekend. Every since I arrived home I have had trouble resisting practicing my flute all day long because it is such a joy to play again. My teacher is very pleased with the outcome of my trip; my lesson last week was very exciting! I appreciate immensely the effort on the part of your company to save me as much money as possible. You’re a wonderful host, Jeff, thank you for going so far out of your way to make me comfortable. For the food, the professional advice, the company, and all else I thank you from the bottom of my heart. My roommate is also grateful for the improvement in music produced in our room. In short, I had a great time and you may rest assured that I will recommend your company without reservation every chance I get.

Lauren:
Thank you for all of your help and guidance with the selection of my piccolo. The work you do is absolutely amazing! The piccolo is great, and with your headjoints, it's even better. I never knew a piccolo could sound this good. Also, thank-you for the extra headjoint, case and cleaning cloths and rod. It was so thoughtful of you to think of me. There is no doubt about it, we will definitely be back! I'm very grateful!

Lauren Erickson:
Wonderful, Wonderful!!!  Keith and I have talked at length and we are close to picking a date.  We are going on vacation now and will be back next week.

I'm so excited!  I'm yet another step closer to my dream come true!  You have been truly terrific to work with, your emails are so prompt.  I appreciate that- thank you!

Lauren Erickson:
I'm so excited, I've bought a beautiful Haynes 14k!  Jeff is taking it with him to "get it ready" and he said I should receive it by Friday (so quick!).  Our visit was wonderful and Jeff shows real passion for his business.  He knows his stuff!!  I am so thrilled the arrangement worked out as I could never have done this without his gracious offer for a private showing.  We had a fun discussion at the end of the day about Keith and I coming to N.Y. (w/out kids in tow, just the two of us!) and Jeff showing us around.  I know I would have a blast seeing his company and meeting all the employees.   Even my engineering husband became curious and interested as Jeff talked about the dynamics of the flute.

I'll stay in touch and eventually send some pictures of Jeff's visit here.

Lauri Harris:
I can't tell you how happy I am!   I also appreciate that you stand behind what you sell.  I can see why your establishment has the excellent reputation that it does!

Lea Botta
Thaks for all your help!!! You guys are really great!!!!

Leia Hohenfeld:
I am writing you to express my utmost gratitude for creating such a wonderful instrument. It’s been two years since I purchased my piccolo and it is still playing like new. Thank you.

Linda:
Many thanks for your help. I think my student will be very happy with the piccolo. I'm sure she will want to upgrade to an exotic wood head when she returns to NYC in August.

Linda Hood:
Within the last year, as I worked on embouchure changes to achieve a darker sound, I became aware that putting a wood headjoint on a silver flute body would significantly alter its sound. The effect was much closer to the traditional Irish flute sound. I also learned that The JB Weissman Music Company, where I get all my repair work done, sells wooden headjoints. Bingo! The sound I want to hear coming from the flute I want to play.

Weissman carries a Sedona headjoint, which comes in both grenadilla and sandalwood. A quick survey of what is available on the internet shows that wooden headjoints can cost a little less or significantly more than this one. At $850, it's pretty reasonable, and I know that Jeff Weissman wouldn't sell it if he didn't stand behind it. He has built a solid reputation on quality and personalized service.

I spent an ample amount of time playing both the grenadilla and sandalwood models and discusing their pros and cons with Jeff. I selected the sandalwood for it's round, woody sound, its pretty reddish color, and its fragrant smell. Flute players, imagine this: a flute that never gets halitosis!

I'm very happy with my flute now. I play it every day just to hear the sound of it. If you close your eyes and listen, you'd think I were playing an Irish flute. One never knows what the future will bring, but at the present time I'm totally satisfied with this resolution to the silver flute vs. Irish flute dilemna.

Linda Johnson:
Thank you for the efficient service and keeping us updated on the status. My daughter has been so pleased with her flute since we got it a year ago and was well worth the trip to Weismann's.

Lisa:
It's good to know there are real people around. Thank you for spending extra time with me. I appreciate you & the guys getting my flute in & out. It plays really well when I have the time!

Lisa Baldiwn:
How can I possibly thank you enough for yours and Beth's visit to our home tonight!  You took such special care with each of us. You talked with Jason about things men are concerned about, you worked with Karen in such a fun and instructive way--wow!  She will never forget having a private flute foot joint assembling lesson from Jeff Weissman himself in our kitchen!  And I really meant what I said about feeling like I have a new friend there in New York--but soon closer here in Utah.  What an amazing honor it has been to hear your stories and lessons and experiences!  Thank you, thank you, thank you so very much for your kindness to us.

Karen loves her new flute and will cherish the years she plays it.

Lisa Petrie:
It was great meeting you and doing business. I'm enjoying my piccolo! It's beautiful, and I'm so happy with the grenadilla wood.

Lori:
I've had a Weissman piccolo for 3 1/2 years now with no problems. I chose the satine headjoint to put on a regular grenadilla body. It is a fabulous piccolo with an incredibly sweet sound. The intonation is also great. If money is any concern, I would also recommend trying one of his resin piccolos. They are fabulous. They sound much better than a lot of wood piccolos. I love Weissman piccolos, and so does everyone who hears one. I have had a lot of people say they never liked the sound of a piccolo until they heard mine. Jeff Weissman is also great to deal with!

Lucho Castilla:
Thank you very much again for the alto flute! It was a magical moment for me to open the case and see that flute. It sounds great!

Lynn Peck:
Thank you so much for the beautiful new Haynes flute.  I love it!  It is so much easier to play in tune and blend with Marisa and other players.  It has such a beautiful tone quality with lots of colors for me to explore.  HURRAY!  I really enjoyed playing it in the Orchestra concerts this past weekend.

Thank you David, for all your time and efforts with picking the best flute for me.  I really appreciate all your help.

Lynn Peck:
Thank you so much for your outstanding and individualized service you gave me when purchasing my Haynes flute and Hammig piccolo.  I am so happy with both instruments and can't wait for the fall chamber orchestra season to begin! I will be well equipped and well prepared. I look forward to your expert service and care for my new instruments and will continue to refer my students and colleagues to you in the future. Thank you again for everything! See you in August at the NFA Convention.

Lynne Shapiro:
You guys are awesome - take care!

Marianne Christen:
Please thank Jeff for all the assistance he provided us on Wednesday.  I knew we were in good hands from the minute we met.  Jeff's enthusiasm and knowledge were so remarkable. We were excited about purchasing a new flute and piccolo, but also nervous about being able to find the right ones for Jacquie.

I hope all is going well in your preparations for the Flute Convention. Our best wishes to all of you!

Marcia Hamilton:
Again, thank you for your help, patience, input, perspectives, time, effort, and thoughts during Allie’s flute explorations and flute buying journey. Please also thank Jara for her help and cheer.

Margaret Gorski-Sermer:
I wanted to thank you again for being so responsive and kind to me and my husband this week when I had the problem with my flute low C key. You took so much time out of your busy schedule to fix the problem and make me feel comfortable, it was well worth the long drive from Connecticut. The flute works just fine now and I am very appreciative. Also my flute case is good as new after your repairs and I also love my new Jean Cavallaro case cover! As you suggested, I called Jim at Northwind Cases and explained about the multiple problems with the case and cover he sent and that I would like to return them for full refund. He agreed immediately which pleased and impressed me.

So, this week began with a minor crisis but ended very positively with a total solution to the problem, but more importantly confirming my confidence in true professionalism and human goodness.

I was so pleased and appreciative of your great service that I made an appointment with your office to have my flute serviced with new pads for May 5, after my series of performances.

Thank you again.

Maria Tamburrino, San Jose Symphony:
Thank you so much for your magnificent work on my Brannen flute. The flute has a new life now. Impeccable work!!! Thank you.

Marie Schwartz:
Thank you for always being there for me. Best wishes for a happy, healthy & very prosperous millennium.

Marie Schwartz:
I wanted to let you, Jeff, and Nick know how magnificent it was to play on my Powell piccolo on Saturday.  It sounded beautiful.  Thanks for a job well done.

Marisa Tigue Trees:
Thanks so much for all your help (and generosity, and patience!!!). I am enjoying my new Powell and this experience has given me a new appreciation of the Haynes I previously purchased from you.

Again, many thanks and I look forward to seeing you again.

Mark LaForge:
The lip plate is fantastic - just like you said, it is like brand new !! Thanks for doing a little polishing on the instrument too. With the work you did on the flute, the sound I would describe as noticeably more responsive, a little darker, with a more solid and resonant core. The solid feel that the sound has I think can be attributed to the good kind of resistance, as you describe it, that was added in the headjoint. I am thrilled with the work you have done because the flute can now retain its original sound, but in an enhanced form. Thanks again.

Mary Brust:
Thanks again for the wonderful care and attention to details and help with this project.  I am completely thrilled with my purchases and look forward to much joy with both of them.

Mary Fike:
The Weissman flute you repaired for me (owned by Esther Lee) is wonderful.  Thank you for your excellent work.

Mary Swaffield, Calgary, Canada:
Thank you so much for your excellent service as well as your patience while I chose my new flute. I can’t tell you how nice it was to deal with a company with such great customer service. Thanks for getting my wonderful flute to me as quickly as you did! After everything I’ve been through in the last year it has been a huge relief to finally have an amazing flute to play once again! I love it, and I am sure I will go far with it. Thanks so much for everything. I’ve recommended you to all of my colleagues and friends, and I know where to go next year when I buy a new piccolo. You guys are amazing!

Matt Mayberry:
Thanks again for a great day yesterday.  Kaitlyn is thrilled with her new instrument.  We really appreciate all the time and support we received from Jeff and the entire team at Weissman!

Jeff called my cell phone last night to make sure we were getting home OK.  I wanted to let him know that we did.

After arriving in Manhattan yesterday afternoon, we had time to get some NY pizza, visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and go to the top of the Empire State Building.  We had a great time and got the airport in plenty of time to catch our flight home.  Thanks for looking after us to make sure we weren’t stranded!

I also wanted to let Jeff know how much we appreciated the time he spent helping us make our selection yesterday.  It was a great experience for Kaitlyn (and me).  We both appreciated Jeff’s coaching Kaitlyn with her embouchure.  I think she’s determined to work on using this more “relaxed” technique going forward.  And thanks also for the Ninja fingering tips and the Hubert Laws listening session and CD!   And the bagels!  And the ride from the airport and to the subway!

We’re working on plans to come back to NY for the NFA Convention in August.  We’ll let you know as soon as we figure out our plans.  It would be great if we could somehow arrange a lesson for Kaitlyn with Jeff at that time.  She really enjoyed working with him as a “student” yesterday.

Meredith Allen:
I am sure that you are quite busy as usual but I just wanted to take a few moments of your time to thank you for the amazing work you have done on my flute- you truly are the master of flutes. I could not be happier.

Meredith Vrobel:
Seeing/playing is definitely the way to go! Also finding out how top notch your service is truly professional on every level!!

Meredith Vrobel:
First of all want to thank you for your attention to every detail concerning my interest in a Haynes Classic flute. It is apparent at JB Weissman that customer service is of the highest caliber. Unfortunately not the norm in this era so very refreshing and greatly appreciated. Leila you indeed fit right in with this fine company!

In closing thanks again for all you help, patience, and personal advice especially the terrific tip about the gold riser! I will highly recommend JB Weissman to anyone in the flute market.

Micah Layne:
I appreciate your work. I will most certainly do business with you again.

Many thanks to you! (And you do have a lot of "panache.") And thank you all for the warm welcome, the good company, good laughs, good advice and the patience!

Michael Colquhoun:
I have been playing my newly modified Hammig for two weeks now, and your work on it was outstanding. Not only did you fit a new C# trill key and replace pads as asked, you also tightened up my case and the footjoint connection at no charge. Thank you for such an excellent job. I will recommend your work to any and all flutists.

Mimi Acosta
We have received and printed out the appraisal, invoice, warranty, and flute care instructions for the Samperi flute.  It has been a pleasure doing business with you and Weissman Music.

Moselle Bossous:
Thanks so much for your help, patience, and outstanding service towards fulfilling my goal of having a flute and getting back at playing.  You are wonderful, wonderful individuals and I will never cease to thank you. I'll recommend everyone who needs a flute to visit your shop.  And yes, if I become a pro, I'm coming again for my gold flute...Smile!

Warmest regards to Jeff. Take good care.  Have a fabulous week-end.

THANKS A MILLION......!!!!!

Moselle Bossous:
Hope the day is going great on your side of town.  I JUST WANT TO SHOUT MY THANKS TO YOU ALL.  MY JOY IS OVERFLOWING FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK AT MAKING MY VISIT AT WEISSMAN A SUBLIME AND THRILLING EXPERIENCE.  (Notice I wrote in all caps).   That's how I want to shout you my greatest thanks, respect, and admiration for being such a great company, and above all ANGELS.  I will forever remember this experience.

Nancy Mihalek:
Please thank everyone there for the beautful instrument and the wonderful service always given by Jeff and his 'crew'. Please give him an extra hug from me. We will surely see you before Nicole's graduation. Tell Jeff we will keep him informed as Nicole goes thru the next difficult phase of her 'development'.

Nancy Mihalek:
Another of your Weissman piccolos will grace the Stern Auditorium in March. Thanks again for a beautiful instrument.

Ned Barber:
I want to thank you and David for all the help you gave us on Saturday. It was an amazing experience, all the more so because our initial impressions arrived at in the morning were born out by the rigorous blind tests in the afternoon. Clearly, the Muramatsu is the flute for Ashley at this time. She had been playing at home, and it sounds more and more beautiful. I am feeling guilty that I didn’t do something about a new flute for Ashley sooner. She has definitely been held back by her instrument. You folks did a great job helping her find the right flute.

Nina Bender:
I thought that I may have been able to tell you this the other day, but I realize that you must be very busy—I know that we all are! Thank you for everything that you did for me concerning the purchase of my flute. You were truly hospitable and wonderful. I know that I seemed very aloof at first, but as you may already know, I was scared! The travel allowance you credited me with is very gracious of you. Thank you for everything. I love my flute. You can bet that you’ll get many a recommendation from me!

Pat George:
So much to thank you for! Kevin’s flute, Heather’s flute, and for fixing my piccolo. Wow, what an improvement!

Patrick Dillery:
I want to thank you for the wonderful gold-riser headjoint I recently purchased. The increased depth in my playing has been very much noticed by colleagues and audience members in recent concerts. Comments such as "increased guts", "enhanced color range" and "intense, yet focused pianissimo in all registers" have become commonplace. Your craftsmanship and sensitivity to the needs of a performer like myself is very impressive. I will do my utmost to help you promote any of your designs in headjoints and piccolos. Thanks again for the new technology and have a great holiday season. Best of luck in the New Year.

Patti Monson:
My flute feels great.  Nick is very talented.

Patty Davila:
Thank you so much for the fantastic piccolo!! I picked it up this morning, and it is just amazing. The intonation is perfect, and it is so easy to play. I just love it, and I really appreciate all that you did to make it possible. Thank you so much, I know that I will never need to buy another piccolo!!! This web site looks great too. I am very happy with the piccolo, and it is so pretty, too. I will see you at the Flute Fair in a few weeks. Thank you.

Peter:
Thanks a lot for taking good care of Vasco. He sounds and feels much much better!

Patty Haydis
I can't tell you how WONDERFUL my piccolo plays now! I am soooooo happy! Jeff is a miracle worker. I have praised his work to quite a few friends and hopefully, that will lead to more business for you. Please tell Jeff how happy I am. Thanks again, I am super happy!

Rachel Andrews:
I just want to say thanks for all your help in getting my dream flute! I just wanted to let you know, it is amazing and I am having such a great time playing it! It has a gorgeous sound and i'm loving it to bits.

My partner Paul and myself will be in New York at the beginning of March of next year and I would love to come and visit your shop again. It was such a pleasure meeting the team there and I look forward to visiting in March!

Randy Vaughn:
I just wanted to say thanks for everything. I really had a blast playing all the different flutes on Wednesday. Tell Jeff thanks also.

I love my new flute!!! It fits me perfectly. We just loved NY and its people. Let me know when you come to Houston and I will try to drop by and see you all. Also if I can be of any help when you are in the area it would be my pleasure.

Rena Taylor:
Jenna had a great experience choosing her flute. Many thanks to Joe and Jeff for all their amazing input! She has decided to take the Powell. Thanks so much.

Rhea:
Thank you so much for the patient and professional time you gave me! I am extremely happy with my choice—especially because I know for certain that the Haynes was the perfect one for me. You allowed me to explore the comparison of many choices, definitely contributing to the value of my experience with your repeated “listening tests.” Somehow, also, you helped me feel completely at home, and this allowed me to play my best. It was a pleasure meeting you and taking the flute tour. To see and touch all of the exquisite piccolo headjoints and to have the opportunity to learn so much was quite a thrill. But again, the thing you provided for me which was so appreciated was the attitude you gave me while listening to all those flutes. I felt complete and certain confidence that you were giving me your undivided attention—as well as your honest opinion. Thank you so much for everything.

Robin Krasny, Florida:
You all were so wonderful to me when I came to get my aunt's flute fixed. I will never forget how you took such good care of me....took me to the airport afterwards AND sent me my coat in the mail when I accidently left it in your office!! Above and beyond....service with style and a smile....Thank you Jeff and Leila!!

Sally Humphreys:
I'm on tour in the lovely "Upper Midwest" and enjoying my "new and improved" piccolo! Thanks for your good work and your help.

Sandra Church, The New York Philharmonic:
The New York Philharmonic tour is going well. Here in Prague we played in Smetana Hall. The flute is sounding and feeling great thanks to your eleventh-hour genius.

Sandy & Kimberly:
I would like to thank you for your promptness concerning Kimberly's piccolo once you realized our problem. The piccolo is wonderful!! Thank you for your services and we will be contacting you in the near future for a flute.

Sarah Halzman:
I'm sorry it's taken me so long to put pen to paper, but I would like to thank you very much for the prompt service and great workmanship on my flute (not to mention the discount!) I really appreciate the fact that you could do it at such short notice. You got me out of a real bind! Thanks again.

Sharon Rafferty:
I know how busy this time of year must be for the store, so I appreciate everything all of you have done.  I wouldn't trust anyone else with my flute.  Again, thanks for so much and I look forward to doing business with you in the future!

Shelley:
Dear Powell Flute Company,

After several problems with another flute company concerning my Powell 2110, I sent my flute to Jeff Weissman's. He and his associates managed to convince me that this Powell deserved one more chance. I knew he was an authorized warranty repairman for Powell, so I took one last chance with the flute. After a year-long battle with this flute, the flute plays beautifully today. He and his associates managed to convince me that this Powell deserved one more chance. I knew he was an authorized warranty repairman for Powell, so I took one last chance with the flute. After a year-long battle with this flute, the flute plays beautifully today.

Sherrie:
As a busy person with a tight schedule, you graciously put aside your important Connecticut appointment to attend to Blaine's flute repairs. Your warmth and honesty were overwhelming. You made Blaine feel very comfortable as if you had known him for years. In addition, you felt that our friendship was an important concern, and you conveyed that we were just as important as your famous clientele. Jeff, your repair work and knowledge of flutes are excellent. In essence, you are a master technician, and your work is the "Rolls Royce of flutes." You took the time to explain everything about the repair. We were both extremely impressed. Blaine & I have not stopped raving that the flute sounds and works 100% better.

Sister Mary Anna:
I LOVE my new flute!  The only trouble is...I'm becoming "addicted" to it!  No matter how tired I am after a long days work...once I pick it up, I don't want to put it down!  Think I just might have to give up my day job???

Everyone who hears it can tell the difference...the combination of warmth and brightness...AND personality.  For me personally, its so much easier to play (a real joy!)...and no more worries about high E!  Thanks for helping me make the right choice!

Steph:
Thank you so much for your patience and kindness. You made me so happy. I love my flute!!

Stephanie Gralow:
You have so much to do with beautiful music-making. It is because of you that we are all so happy. Thanks again and again for your kindness, respect, and amazing work.

Stephen Harvey:
Well, it’s done.  We're home and Sara has a new flute.  I promise you that I didn't miss a thing.  Let's recap:

1. You spent an infinite amount of time making sure Sara had the best flute for her ability, growth and my budget.

2.  You kept all your promises and saw to it that Sara's flute was ready before we went back to Georgia.

3. I threw a few curve balls at you and you took it like a champ.

4. You patiently answered all my questions and graciously tolerated me. (I can be difficult)

5. The cost of the flute was consistent with Internet discounters who do no more that box and ship.

6. You threw a few extras into the deal such as:

the High E Facilitator

the extra padding inside the flute case and the choice of leather outer cases offered to Sara

travel credit

So, to make sure that you didn't feel unappreciated after our departure, this note is to let you know that we are aware of and will not forget all the nice things you did for us.  We appreciated you and your dedicated staff.

Everyone who admires Sara's new flute will know that Jeff Weissman is responsible for Sara's perfect fit.

Steve Clutson:
The Mura is sounding rich, delicious and sexy.  You guys are the best when it comes to "walking the talk." I am looking forward to many years of enjoyable fluting, and will seriously consider another visit before this year is out - if you can handle the pressure!

Sue:
Thank you (once again!) for doing such a fabulous job with my flute! As I always say...."You're the BEST!" Take care!

Sue Massa:
I just wanted you to know I really appreciate all you’ve done to help Jacquelyn. You are a true saint. Thanks again.

Sue Peters:
I am always sending you a Thank You - because you are always doing things for me.  Thank you for making my Haynes flute sound beautiful.   Like I said, when no one is listening I am brave enough to sound it- and it sounds soooo nice now, without the air leaks. I am really enjoying it - I pick it up and play along with the radio a lot.   You are the most fascinating of all my friends, and Anne agrees with me. I also enjoyed seeing the tape of the girl, Catherine, playing flute. It is so cool how you adopt and encourage so many musicians - and she's lucky to have met the master, Jeff! This should be interesting! You are reliably, consistently AMAZING, Jeff!  Love you so much!

Susan Jorgensen:
I hope you received my phone message a few weeks ago, but I still wanted to send you a more formal thank you! Thank you for taking good care of my flute and improving the overall quality of it. This card feels like a meager attempt at appreciation, but let me say that I will recommend you to every flute player I know and will give you any of my future business. Thank you again.

Suzanne Ferrigno:
'Twas a pleasure doing business with you, and I hope to continue to do business with you in the future...Thanks for all your patience and efforts to please me in my flute selection.

Takako Ishii:
Thank you very much for everything you did for Hinano.  We really appreciate your generous decision.  Of course, we heard your shop is best shop in NY from Hinanos teachers.  And Hinano met you at the Flute Fair in Manhattan last time.  She was impressed very much at that time.  Hinano is so happy.  She named her new flute "Lady M."  I hope she improve her skil and enjoy music.

Takeo Hayano:
On behalf of Ms. Eiko Watanabe, I am writing this to say that we have received the necessary information regarding the Haynes flute that she purchased at your place on November 4th.  We are also thankful to your hospitality that we enjoyed during the visit.

Ms. Watanabe likes the flute very much and will cherish it for many years to come.

Tammy Wiggett:
Thank you so much for such a  great flute-buying experience! Emily is absolutely thrilled with her new flute. Also, we stopped at Berta's on the way home Friday night, and she loved it too.

Tara O' Conner:
Thank you soooo much. I love my flute now! I really appreciate all of the time you spent with me today making my instrument perfect! You are wonderful!! Tell Scott I said thanks for the cork & shine. It also looks beautiful!! See you in February.

Thiago Sousa:
Thanks for all help and support during these long year and a half that I spent at queens college... you guys were nothing but very helpful friends.. and I really appreciate it.

Tibby Christenberry:
I just wanted to let you know that my flute is fantastic after all you did to it!  It plays like a dream.  I didn't realize how badly it needed to visit you.  The change is incredible.  It seems like a brand new flute.

I love the adjustment you made to the G# key.  It's perfect.  Already I can tell how much easier it will be to finger fast passages where I use that key.  It feels great.

Thanks for polishing it up so nicely too.  I'm so proud of it-- it's such a beautiful flute.

Thank you again!  Have a happy 4th!

Vicki Chilinski:
I am writing you this letter to thank you for giving me the wonderful opportunity to try out so many flutes in my search for the perfect one. I also love my new flute that I bought through your company. The Muramatsu AD is a wonderful instrument that I will enjoy playing for a long time.

Wendy Marinelli:
Thanx for taking care of me so quickly. The difference is amazing in the sound. She can now get notes out that were previously giving her trouble.

Yasuka Nambu:
How can I express to you my delight in the new piccolo and the headjoints? I look forward to exploring its endless capabilities. Thank you so much for the wonderful and beautiful instrument. Thank you again.

Yutaka Ito:
I wish to express my sincere thanks for your support and advice on my purchase of a Haynes flute. Without both of you, I do not think I was able to find this good solution.

Now I came back to Tokyo with a nice music stand (which surprised the security inspectors at JFK, but with no problem), and I am already enjoying the sound from the new flute, on which I found that "Weissman model" was proudly engraved!!

I look forward to seeing you next time.
