Dear Jeff, The New York Philharmonic tour is going well. Here in Prague we played in Smetana Hall. The flute is sounding and feeling great thanks to your eleventh-hour genius. Love, Sandra Church

Dear Jeff, I wanted to let you know how happy I am with my new flute. It plays “like buttah!” I am very happy with it. I’ve told my husband, “it’s the nicest present I’ve ever gotten.” I appreciated the ride from LaGuardia, the lunch, and time you put into helping me select a flute. The whole experience made me feel like a movie star.Yours, Andrea

Dear Jeff and everyone at JB Weissman, thank you so much for your excellent service as well as your patience while I chose my new flute. I can’t tell you how nice it was to deal with a company with such great customer service. Thanks for getting my wonderful flute to me as quickly as you did! After everything I’ve been through in the last year it has been a huge relief to finally have an amazing flute to play once again! I love it, and I am sure I will go far with it. Thanks so much for everything. I’ve recommended you to all of my colleagues and friends, and I know where to go next year when I buy a new piccolo. You guys are amazing! Sincerely, Mary Swaffield, Calgary, Canada

Dear Jeff, thank you for the beautiful piccolo. Kellie was thrilledit was her reward for three straight years of 4.0 GPA. She has also enjoyed her Muramatsu flute we purchased two years ago and always is complimented on her beautiful tone. I’m sure we’ll be back when she is ready for an upgrade. After all, you are the only flute store in the world, aren’t you? Thank you again, Carlin Goff and Kellie Goff

Thanks, thanks, thanks! I keep recommending you. I love my Miyazawa!

Dear Jeff, First of all, Meredith is delighted with her new piccolo. David diGiacobi was highly complimentary to both the fullness of sound and the quality of construction of the instrument. He said, “I may have to have one of these.” And, he also went on and on about the cocobolo piccolo case. Many of Meredith’s fellow flutists were very interested in her new “friend” and could not believe how fantastic it sounds. We all knew that! But, just the same, it adds to the fun and excitement of having such a fine instrument when your instructor and peers are in agreement with your choice. Many, many thanks again for all of your help with the selection and all of the extra work that made the whole experience so wonderful. With best regards, Glenn Allen

Dear Jeff, Thank you for all your time, patience, and knowledge in helping me select the right flute. It is greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Jacquelyn Massa

Hi Jeff, Jara, and Co: Thank you very much again for the alto flute! It was a magical moment for me to open the case and see that flute. It sounds great!
Take care, Lucho Castilla
Dear Jeff, David, Eli & Jara, All I have been doing since I came home is PRACTICE my picc. It is the most awesome piccolo I have ever played and I am so proud to own a Weissman piccolo. I really could not be happier with my selection. Thanks to each of you for giving me such special memories of my first trip to NYC. It isn’t possible for you to know how much you touched me. Thank you, too, Jeff, for your extraordinary skills and talent and for the high priority you and your staff place on excellence! Keep up the great work…the music world needs you! Appreciatively, Caroline Cline Corbett

The flute is amazing and I am enjoying it immensely! Thank you so much for all your help and expertise through the process over the last four months. Best wishes, Jennifer Phelps

Dear Jeff, I decided to go with the bocote headjointit was definitely the most “special.” Thanks for all of your help and hard work. All the headjoints were beautiful. Best, Catherine Cuomo

Dear Jeff, I’d like to thank you very much for my new wonderful flute. I knew from the first moment that I played it that it was extremely special. I’m so glad I was able to get the flute that I loved and I owe it all to you and Beth. Sincerely, Kasumi Leonard

Dear Jeff, I want to thank you and David for all the help you gave us on Saturday. It was an amazing experience, all the more so because our initial impressions arrived at in the morning were born out by the rigorous blind tests in the afternoon. Clearly, the Muramatsu is the flute for Ashley at this time. She had been playing at home, and it sounds more and more beautiful. I am feeling guilty that I didn’t do something about a new flute for Ashley sooner. She has definitely been held back by her instrument. You folks did a great job helping her find the right flute. Sincerely, Ned Barber
I hope you received my phone message a few weeks ago, but I still wanted to send you a more formal thank you! Thank you for taking good care of my flute and improving the overall quality of it. This card feels like a meager attempt at appreciation, but let me say that I will recommend you to every flute player I know and will give you any of my future business. Thank you again. Susan Jorgensen

Dear Jeff, Again, thank you for your help, patience, input, perspectives, time, effort, and thoughts during Allie’s flute explorations and flute buying journey. Please also thank Jara for her help and cheer. Marcia Hamilton

Dear Jeff, I thought that I may have been able to tell you this the other day, but I realize that you must be very busyI know that we all are! Thank you for everything that you did for me concerning the purchase of my flute. You were truly hospitable and wonderful. I know that I seemed very aloof at first, but as you may already know, I was scared! The travel allowance you credited me with is very gracious of you. Thank you for everything. I love my flute. You can bet that you’ll get many a recommendation from me! Sincerely, Nina Bender

Jeff Weissman's combination of exquisite craftsmanship and impeccable service is unparalleled in my experience. In addition to mastering the technical aspects of the instrument as well as anyone in the business, Jeff is equally masterful in understanding and adapting to the particular needs of each individual flutist. Over the course of many years working with Jeff, I have brought countless students and colleagues to him and am continually amazed by the time, energy and care he takes with each no matter their circumstances--Angela Kelly

Hi Jeff, I am so happy with my new flute & piccolo. I look forward to practicing every day, and I am reluctant to put my flute away. It was great not to have to wait to order the flute and wonderful to know that you had thoroughly inspected and adjusted the flute. I also appreciate the seven hours of your time and expertise!! Anyway, thank you so much for everything. Thanks to David, he was a great help. Looking forward to seeing you in a few months. --Gina S.

Dear Jeff, Thank you so much for fitting me in your busy schedule!!! The footjoint is pretty weak and the right hand in general is hopefully something you can improve. Yes, you can clean it. It has held up beautifully this season--no one has touched it since you! Love & kisses, Sandra Church

Dear Jeff, As a busy person with a tight schedule, you graciously put aside your important Connecticut appointment to attend to Blaine's flute repairs. Your warmth and honesty were overwhelming. You made Blaine feel very comfortable as if you had known him for years. In addition, you felt that our friendship was an important concern, and you conveyed that we were just as important as your famous clientele. Jeff, your repair work and knowledge of flutes are excellent. In essence, you are a master technician, and your work is the "Rolls Royce of flutes." You took the time to explain everything about the repair. We were both extremely impressed. Blaine & I have not stopped raving that the flute sounds and works 100% better. Love, Sherrie

Jeff and Staff: I just want to thank you for all of the trouble you went through to help me pick out my flute. It was so nice of you to spend so much time and energy finding me the "right" flute. Coming down to your place was the highlight of my vacation. I learned so much in the time I spent, and now I know that the only place where people get the opportunity to try so many instruments is the JB Weissman Music Company. I will recommend you to all of my flute & piccolo searching friends in the future. Once again, thank you all so much. It's so nice to be back at school with a new and wonderful flute. --Alexandra Sopp

I've had a Weissman piccolo for 3 1/2 years now with no problems. I chose the satine headjoint to put on a regular grenadilla body. It is a fabulous piccolo with an incredibly sweet sound. The intonation is also great. If money is any concern, I would also recommend trying one of his resin piccolos. They are fabulous. They sound much better than a lot of wood piccolos. I love Weissman piccolos, and so does everyone who hears one. I have had a lot of people say they never liked the sound of a piccolo until they heard mine. Jeff Weissman is also great to deal with! --Lori
To Whom it May Concern: I greatly appreciate your efforts in promptly returning my flute. I can honestly say that no one has ever taken better care of me with such consideration. Thank you again. --Alexis Frankel
Hi Jeff! Thank you (once again!) for doing such a fabulous job with my flute! As I always say...."You're the BEST!" Take care! --Sue
Dear Mr. Weissman: Just a note to tell you how much I appreciate all the time you spent with me on the phone last Thursday. You were very kind, patient & helpful. I am most grateful!--Brenda

Hi Jeff! I'm on tour in the lovely "Upper Midwest" and enjoying my "new and improved" piccolo! Thanks for your good work and your help. --Sally Humphreys
Jeff, I am very grateful for all your generosity, and especially for letting me stay with you. Although I wasn't able to spend as much time at the convention as I had originally planned, I went home feeling fulfilled. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to enjoy everything, especially all your wonderful piccolos. I look forward to coming in and finding the one for me. Thanks again, I greatly appreciate all your kindness. --Krista Call
Jeff, Hi! I am so impressed with the sound of this piccolo. Going from Zentner to Weissman made an astronomically bigger difference in my playing--about 100 times more noticeable than going from Sankyo wing-lip to handmade Powell. So...thanks!! Love, Jennifer Borkowski
Dear Jeff, Thank you, thank you, thank you!! The flute feels great! Your generosity is always appreciated, but I could not let it go unnoticed. --Debbie

Dear Jeff Weissman, Enclosed is my latest CD. I am very excited about this one because it is the best work I've done. Part of what made it my best is the fact that I bought a new headjoint from you. Playing the various headjoints last summer at the NFA convention awakened me to just what a difference headjoints can make to the character of the flute. It also made me realize how much my technique had been hindered by my old headjoint. My technique exploded to a whole new level with this one. I appreciate your time and your trust with sending me the headjoints. It was an excellent learning experience, and I found one that has propelled me forward. Now I need a new flute. (OY!) Thanks once again for what you do. --Ben Klein
Dear Jeff, I want to thank you for the wonderful gold-riser headjoint I recently purchased. The increased depth in my playing has been very much noticed by colleagues and audience members in recent concerts. Comments such as "increased guts", "enhanced color range" and "intense, yet focused pianissimo in all registers" have become commonplace. Your craftsmanship and sensitivity to the needs of a performer like myself is very impressive. I will do my utmost to help you promote any of your designs in headjoints and piccolos. Thanks again for the new technology and have a great holiday season. Best of luck in the New Year. --Patrick Dillery
Dear Jeff, Thank you so much for letting me test these. I greatly enjoyed and appreciated the time you spent with me while I was in New York and for so graciously hosting me and my mom. I look forward to working with you in the future, and hopefully I'd like to get my instruments sent to you this summer to be worked on a bit. Thanks again. --Anna Stoetzer

Words fall short in describing how I feel about music and life but I'm fired up!. I would love to come out and learn from you. I'm grateful to have met you and worked with you. I appreciate the way you treated me with respect and was straight up with me. Every other " bad ass" I've met has looked down their nose at me, but you gave a genuine effort to help me improve. Dear Jeff, Thank you for all of your help and guidance with the selection of my piccolo. The work you do is absolutely amazing! The piccolo is great, and with your headjoints, it's even better. I never knew a piccolo could sound this good. Also, thank-you for the extra headjoint, case and cleaning cloths and rod. It was so thoughtful of you to think of me. There is no doubt about it, we will definitely be back! I'm very grateful! Love, Lauren

Dear Jeff, We purchased a new flute for our daughter, Katie, at Slippery Rock University at Stacey Steele's Flute Festival. We bought a Muramatsu EX. Katie has not stopped playing it since we left the university last night. It makes beautiful music, and Katie loves the feel of playing it already. As Katie is a 15-year-old ninth grader, this was our first experience with anything like this. The student flute was much less complicated to buy. This was a fun process (even Katie's Grandma got to be part of it). We learned so much from you and enjoyed having her try so many flutes. We appreciate your knowledge and the way you shared it with us. Thank you for making the trip to "The Rock." We were in the process of having 9 flutes shipped to us for trial. This was a much better way for us to shop since we could see and touch all the flutes before narrowing down. It was also great to have you there to answer questions on the spot. Katie is thrilled with her new instrument. Thank you for helping Katie find her "partner." Sincerely, DB
Dear Jeff, Thank you so much for all your time & generosity. I love my new piccolo! I look forward to getting to know you as a friend and fellow musician. --Claudia
Dear Jeff: I have been playing my newly modified Hammig for two weeks now, and your work on it was outstanding. Not only did you fit a new C# trill key and replace pads as asked, you also tightened up my case and the footjoint connection at no charge. Thank you for such an excellent job. I will recommend your work to any and all flutists. Sincerely, Michael Colquhoun

Dear Jeff, Thanks a lot for taking good care of Vasco. He sounds and feels much much better! --Peter
Dear Jeff & Everybody, Thank you so much for the fantastic piccolo!! I picked it up this morning, and it is just amazing. The intonation is perfect, and it is so easy to play. I just love it, and I really appreciate all that you did to make it possible. Thank you so much, I know that I will never need to buy another piccolo!!! This web site looks great too. I am very happy with the piccolo, and it is so pretty, too. I will see you at the Flute Fair in a few weeks. Thank you. Flutingly yours, Patty Davila

Greetings, I just wanted to send you a note expressing my thanks for the quick cork assembly replacement you did for me last week. The weighted cork sounds great, and I am amazed at the increased response--I really had no idea the difference a new cork assembly could make. Jeff Weissman and Co. have been a tremendous resource, and I am very appreciative. Thanks again, and I look forward to continuing to take advantage of your expertise for a long time into the future. --Daniel Kirchner

Dear Jeff, You are the absolute best! How can I ever thank you enough? Have a wonderful holiday season and I'll be in touch. All my love, Amy
Dear Mr. Weissman, I'm sorry it's taken me so long to put pen to paper, but I would like to thank you very much for the prompt service and great workmanship on my flute (not to mention the discount!) I really appreciate the fact that you could do it at such short notice. You got me out of a real bind! Thanks again, Sarah Halzman
Dear Jeff and Chris, Thanks so much for the information package and cleaning cloth. You guys are great. I really enjoyed looking at all the information. I didn't realize all the new products and flutes. I guess the days of just considering Powell and Brannen are gone. There is no place like yours out here in LA. I wish there was a place one could go to be exposed to all these innovative ideas. I will have to find an excuse to visit the Big Apple. I wish you all the success in the world on your new instruments. After reading the literature, I think you guys have come up with fine and creative ideas that work and will change the current thought process. --Dan Higgins
Dear Jeff, I was so delighted by your phone call last Tuesday! When we came home very late we found your kind and encouraging message! I was touched and honored that you liked my playing and took the trouble to call. Piccolo and I are doing fine. I certainly love to play it! I actually enjoyed myself playing more than ever. I'm working on a children's concert and finding more fun pieces to learn to play on piccolo. Thank you very much for your encouragement. It meant a great deal to me! I hope all goes very well for you at the flute convention! --Anne

Mr. Weissman, Thank you so much for hand picking the headjoints...Thank you so much!! --Alexandra Sopp

Dear Jeff, Thank you for the time you spent working on my Powell. The instrument plays much easier than it has since I obtained it. Thanks again & I look forward to working with you more in the future. Sincerely, Carl Helmer
Dear Powell Flute Company, After several problems with another flute company concerning my Powell 2100, I sent my flute to Jeff Weissman's. He and his associates managed to convince me that this Powell deserved one more chance. I knew he was an authorized warranty repairman for Powell, so I took one last chance with the flute. After a year-long battle with this flute, the flute plays beautifully today. Sincerely, Shelley
Dear Jeff, Thank you for taking the time this morning to explain so much to me. Dear Jeff, I'm writing to thank you for all the stuff you did for my sister. Visiting you was one of the best things that ever happened to her, not only in terms of her music but also personally. It was obvious how busy you are, but you took the time to give her hours upon hours of free advice, get a group of people together to play quartets, arrange more lessons for her with top flute teachers, take us out for meals, show us the city, etc.,--not to mention letting us stay in your house. Her flute playing improved by leaps and bounds just over the week we were in NY (everyone heard that), and she's been practicing the techniques you taught her. I don't know anything about music, but even I can tell you're an incredible flute teacher. The difference is amazing--particularly considering she felt she'd plateaued in her playing during the previous six months with her teachers. I couldn't believe how much better she'd gotten after such a short time. Not only was it a great experience for her in terms of learning from the best about flutes and meeting important people in New York's music world, but it also increased her confidence and made her feel less insecure about her playing. Also, visiting New York really opened her eyes to the possibilities in the music world and in life in general. You're a special person to do that for someone, and I have no doubt it will have a permanent impact on her playing and her life. Please look us up the next time you are in Seattle, and we can all get together for dinner or something.

Dear Jeff and David, I have tried all week to find the proper words to thank you for my magical experience in NYC last weekend. Every since I arrived home I have had trouble resisting practicing my flute all day long because it is such a joy to play again. My teacher is very pleased with the outcome of my trip; my lesson last week was very exciting! I appreciate immensely the effort on the part of your company to save me as much money as possible. You’re a wonderful host, Jeff, thank you for going so far out of your way to make me comfortable. For the food, the professional advice, the company, and all else I thank you from the bottom of my heart. My roommate is also grateful for the improvement in music produced in our room. In short, I had a great time and you may rest assured that I will recommend your company without reservation every chance I get. Laura English, Hollins University
Dear Jeff, Thank you so much for the patient and professional time you gave me! I am extremely happy with my choiceespecially because I know for certain that the Haynes was the perfect one for me. You allowed me to explore the comparison of many choices, definitely contributing to the value of my experience with your repeated “listening tests.” Somehow, also, you helped me feel completely at home, and this allowed me to play my best. It was a pleasure meeting you and taking the flute tour. To see and touch all of the exquisite piccolo headjoints and to have the opportunity to learn so much was quite a thrill. But again, the thing you provided for me which was so appreciated was the attitude you gave me while listening to all those flutes. I felt complete and certain confidence that you were giving me your undivided attentionas well as your honest opinion. Thank you so much for everything. Rhea

Dear Trevor, on the advice of a friend of mine (Jed Levy, a good doubler), I have recently purchased a Trevor James B foot, open hole flute. Needless to say I am as happy as the proverbial pig. I have actually started to practice again. And I am getting compliments left and right--all due to the instrument. I bought my flute from Jeff Weissman in New York. Jeff should be knighted. Never have I met a retailer who treats his customers like kings and queens. He will go any length to make sure that one is thoroughly satisfied. He gives his most valuable commodity away freely: his time. But accolades aside, he is pushing your flutes quite aggressively to those (like myself) who can really benefit from the jewel that is your product. What does all this mean, you ask? I am just a happy guy saying thank you. Warm regards, Craig Handy
Dear Jeff, everyone is so impressed with my flute. It is so fun to play and not have to blow yours guts out or break your neck to play in tune. We thank you for your salesmanship. It was on a personal level and the hug really topped it off! Musically yours, Diana and Donald.
Dear Mr. Weissman, I am writing you this letter to thank you for giving me the wonderful opportunity to try out so many flutes in my search for the perfect one. I also love my new flute that I bought through your company. The Muramatsu AD is a wonderful instrument that I will enjoy playing for a long time. Sincerely, Vicki Chilinski
Dear Jeff, I am sure that you are quite busy as usual but I just wanted to take a few moments of your time to thank you for the amazing work you have done on my flute- you truly are the master of flutes. I could not be happier. Meredith Allen
Dear Jeff, I cannot tell you how much I have enjoyed my flute throughout the past six months. I barely even wanted to put it in this box to send to you for a check-up. I love, each day, looking forward to practicing, when I can hear its amazing tone. Thank you so much for your help, humor, knowledge, and excitement while I tested all your flutes. With your direction and encouragement how could I have made a wrong decision? I cannot wait to continue making music. Sincerely, Alexis Frankel
| Dear Jeff and the rest of the Weissman staff, Sorry it took so long to get this email to you. Anyway, I wanted to thank you very much for all your help last month when I purchased a Miyazawa Classic from you. I really appreciate all the time (almost 6 ½ hours!!) you spent with me helping me decide which instrument was best for me. I am very much enjoying my new flute, and everyone has commented on my much improved sound. I just played my junior recital last night at the University of Kansas and had so much fun playing on my new Miyazawa. Once again, thank you so much for all of your help and for making my experience at the JB Weissman Music Company so enjoyable. Sincerely, Jane Dodgen |
